Thalia book data: ISBNs, eBooks, store stock & buyback
Explore Thalia books by ISBN and edition; distinguish eBooks, store-level Click & Collect availability, price-channel context and used-book buyback offers.
Match a Thalia book to its edition and format before comparing prices
Thalia's catalog includes physical products, digital content and services, and its terms describe the displayed assortment as a non-binding online catalog. Preserve the item state and format so one title does not collapse into a single generic product row.

| Record key | Fields to retain when displayed | Comparison rule |
|---|---|---|
| Bibliographic identity | Title, author/contributors, ISBN or EAN, publisher, publication date and Thalia item URL/identifier | Use the ISBN and edition to distinguish similar titles and reissues. |
| Physical edition | Format/binding, language, edition and current offer label | A printed edition is a different record from its digital edition. |
| Digital item | eBook or audiobook type, displayed file format and delivery method | Thalia help lists EPUB/PDF for eBooks and ZIP for audiobook downloads; do not infer a universal download file. |
| Observation | Displayed price/currency, channel and observation time | A catalog price is not an accepted order or a completed-sale value. |
Separate Thalia eBook format from the digital-use license
Thalia's current terms treat digital products as licensed content for personal use; the offered file may include an individual watermark or Adobe DRM. Record the format and item-specific delivery label, but do not collect or redistribute the protected digital content as if it were public catalog metadata.

| Digital record | Source-specific detail | Scope boundary |
|---|---|---|
| eBook | The download help identifies EPUB or PDF formats; some items may be read in the Thalia app or a tolino device. | Format and reading channel are item-specific, not one universal file type. |
| Audiobook | Thalia says downloadable audiobook files are provided as ZIP files. | A download or account-library state is not a public product field. |
| Digital rights | Terms allow personal use and state that content may carry a watermark or Adobe DRM. | Keep rights/access metadata separate from any copyrighted book content or user account data. |
Record Click & Collect availability by store and time
Thalia says orders placed during a bookstore's opening hours, when stock is present, are prepared in a 120-minute window. It warns that low stock can sell between updates and that an unavailable product may instead be ordered for pickup the next business day. Treat availability as a store- and time-specific state, not a network-wide stock count.

| Pickup observation | What to capture | Price/availability limit |
|---|---|---|
| Selected store | Store name or location reference, product edition and capture time | One store does not represent all Thalia locations. |
| Availability label | Exact in-stock, unavailable or order-for-pickup wording | A low-stock display can change before staff prepare the order. |
| Preparation estimate | Displayed pickup timing and whether store opening hours apply | The 120-minute statement is conditional on opening hours and stock. |
| Price channel | Online offer price versus bookstore price for the same item | Thalia says non-price-bound products can differ between web and stores; online Click & Collect orders retain the online price under its terms. |
Treat Thalia used-book buyback as a separate offer and inspection flow
Thalia's consumer buyback uses ISBN or barcode lookup against a daily eligible assortment. The displayed quote assumes saleable condition; Thalia accepts the seller's offer only after checking the shipped books. This is neither a public used-book listing price nor a completed resale price.

| Buyback stage | Thalia's stated terms | Data interpretation |
|---|---|---|
| Eligibility and quote | Seller must be a consumer aged over 18; eligible books are found by barcode scan or manual ISBN entry, and a sales order must reach €5. | Keep the ISBN and quote timestamp; eligible assortment and buyback price are time-sensitive. |
| Shipment | Send the books using Thalia's label within 20 days; one sales order can include up to 30 books. | This is a seller workflow, not a public inventory field. |
| Inspection | Thalia checks received books and lists Sehr gut, Gut and Akzeptabel grades; acceptance follows quality inspection. | The preliminary quote can differ from acceptance after inspection. |
| Compensation | Accepted books receive a digital Thalia gift card; terms say it is issued within 14 working days after arrival. No cash payout is offered under these terms. | Store the quote separately from any later retail listing or sale observation. |
Read crawl directives as path guidance, not a reuse license
Thalia's current robots.txt excludes paths including `/api/`, `/konto/`, `/suche`, `/versandbox/` and `/warenkorb/` for the general user agent, and lists public category, article, author, topic and image sitemaps. These crawl directives do not grant a content-reuse license. The terms separately restrict digital content to personal use.

| Source surface | Documented distinction | Record boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Public catalog | Terms describe the online assortment as a non-binding catalog. | A displayed item is not itself a binding offer or proof of stock at a store. |
| Store inventory | Pickup availability and preparation timing depend on a selected bookstore and time. | Do not publish a network-wide stock total from a local pickup observation. |
| Account and checkout | The robots file disallows account, search, cart and selected transaction paths. | Exclude buyer identity, order/contact details and private digital-library records from public product data. |
| Digital works | Digital terms grant personal-use rights and may apply watermarking or Adobe DRM. | Do not treat a licensed ebook file as public listing data. |
