TikTok Shop Japan data: LIVE auctions and bids
TikTok Shop Japan's LIVE auctions use countdown bidding with fixed or seller-extended close times. Preserve auction format, bid state, condition, dedicated inventory and the order created for the winning bidder.
Japan LIVE auctions are eligibility-gated events
TikTok's Japan auction terms require participants to be at least 18, in good standing, and to have a valid payment method and delivery address. The seller guide describes auction access for high-performing sellers and creators; an auction event is not a universal listing format. Age, residence, payment readiness, delivery address and account standing are participant-specific and are not public product fields.

| Participant or seller | Published condition | Fields to retain |
|---|---|---|
| Participant | Eligible country, age 18+, valid payment method and delivery address, and good standing. | Where authorized, preserve only the applicable eligibility and destination state in the participant's account record; do not expose personal details. |
| Seller/creator | TikTok says the auction feature is made available to sellers and creators with strong performance. | Seller account, host account and whether the event uses the auction feature. |
| Auction scope | TikTok's terms apply to Japan and say eligibility depends on participant residence and requirements. | Japan event market and the specific LIVE/event identifier; do not treat this as global auction availability. |
Fixed and extended countdowns close bids differently
Every auction has a countdown and the highest bid when the timer ends wins. Fixed auctions close at zero; extended auctions can add seller-configured time after late bids. When available, Max Bid automatically submits increments up to the buyer's limit. The public terms describe the mechanics; individual bids, Max Bid caps, bidder identity, winner and settlement are buyer/seller event or order records, not public listing fields.

| Auction field | TikTok's Japan rule | Data to preserve |
|---|---|---|
| Fixed auction | The countdown is final; bidding closes at zero with no added time. | Start/end timestamp, countdown state and leading bid at close. |
| Extended auction | A late bid can extend the timer; the seller-set extension is shown in the interface and may repeat while new bids arrive. | Extension duration, each extension event and the final close time. |
| Manual bid or Max Bid | A participant may bid manually or set a maximum; automatic bids follow increments but do not exceed that limit. | In buyer-owned or seller-authorized event records, keep bid type and amounts separate; the buyer's cap and bid history are not public item fields. |
| Bid ceiling and contract | The published per-item bid limit is ¥500,000. A bid is binding; the high bidder at close is obligated to buy. | Separate the public ceiling from participant bids, winner identity, order state and settlement, which are account-specific records. |
| Permitted bidding channel | From April 8, 2026, auctions must use the Countdown Bidding feature; manual comment or DM bidding is prohibited. | Official feature use and event result; do not normalize comments/DMs into bid records. |
Auction condition and stock are part of the sold offer
The Japan seller guide lists used goods and collectibles among auction categories, asks sellers to state item condition, and recommends authenticity evidence for used or luxury goods. Auction stock is allocated separately in Seller Center; the guide also describes bundling auction and Buy Now orders from the same LIVE. Public listings may show seller-disclosed condition, but auction inventory, winner, payment, delivery address and shipment state belong to seller or buyer account records.

| Offer detail | Seller guide context | Comparison treatment |
|---|---|---|
| Condition | Sellers should disclose condition before bidding; used goods and collectibles are eligible categories, subject to category rules. | Preserve new/used condition, disclosed defects, category and seller description. |
| Authenticity | For used or luxury goods, TikTok recommends that sellers present proof of authenticity. | Record whether evidence is presented and its source; do not treat a seller claim as independent authentication. |
| Dedicated inventory | The seller guide instructs sellers to allocate auction-only stock and supports temporary listings for live inventory/order management. | Keep seller inventory quantity and allocation only in seller-authorized records; public listings do not expose the Seller Center stock ledger. |
| Other price offer | TikTok's terms say an auction product may also be sold at a fixed price elsewhere in TikTok Shop. | Keep event bids and fixed-price listing, variant and condition as distinct offer records. |
| Winner fulfillment | The highest bid creates an order and is charged; the item ships to the provided or default delivery address. | Order/payment state and shipment destination belong to buyer or seller transaction records; do not publish real winner identity, address or payment details. |
