TikTok Ads Manager API: reporting, attribution and AI tools
Map TikTok Ads Manager data by advertiser account, campaign, ad group and ad. Compare authorized Marketing API reports, attribution timing, the official Ads MCP server and public Creative Center Top Ads.
Join reports using TikTok's native campaign IDs
TikTok Ads Manager assigns a unique ID to each campaign, ad group and ad. Campaign objective belongs above the ad-group delivery settings, while creative identity and format belong at the ad level. Retain the account and each native ID as join keys instead of matching rows by editable campaign names.

| Record level | Useful fields to retain | Join and interpretation rule |
|---|---|---|
| Advertiser account | Account ID, business role, region, configured timezone and currency | Keep account scope with every export; timezone and currency define the reporting context. |
| Campaign | Campaign ID, objective, buying type and budget fields when returned | This is the objective and top-level budget context, not the ad creative. |
| Ad group | Ad group ID, placement, targeting, schedule, optimization goal and bidding settings | Delivery choices live here and can vary by campaign objective and product availability. |
| Ad | Ad ID, authorized identity, creative reference, format and destination details | Names and creative assets can change; retain the native ID and the version shown in the report. |
Store the report definition beside every metric
TikTok custom reports combine dimensions as row groupings with performance metrics as columns. Attribution and account settings affect what a number means, and some unique-person metrics are deduplicated rather than additive across campaign levels.

| Report context | What to store | Why the value can change |
|---|---|---|
| Report grain | Selected dimensions such as day, campaign, ad group, ad or placement; selected metrics; report level | Different groupings answer different questions; supported metrics depend on the report definition. |
| Account settings | Advertiser ID, account timezone, currency and region | TikTok says campaign reporting and scheduling use the account timezone; account setup also sets reporting currency. |
| App-conversion attribution | Optimization event, click/view lookback window and the reporting date basis | For app-conversion reporting, TikTok documents ad-interaction date while a measurement partner may use conversion-event date. |
| Unique reach | Metric definition and aggregation level | Reach and frequency can be deduplicated across rows, so summing ad or ad-group values may overcount people. |
| API export run | Request range, report task ID, completion time and download status | TikTok documents synchronous and asynchronous report paths; an asynchronous task must be checked and downloaded before it is complete. |
Choose Ads Manager, Marketing API, MCP or Creative Center by the question
These four surfaces do different jobs. Ads Manager and its APIs work with authorized advertiser accounts; TikTok's official MCP path can take campaign actions; Creative Center is the public-facing route for selected creative examples.

| Surface | Documented use | Boundary to preserve |
|---|---|---|
| Ads Manager and Business Center | An advertiser's campaign workspace, custom reports, account assets and team permissions | Analysts can view ads and reports; operator/admin permissions can allow edits or account settings. Use the role actually assigned. |
| Marketing API | The current TikTok API for Business v2.0 reference documents advertiser reporting through synchronous runs and asynchronous create, check, download and cancel tasks. | Use the current report endpoint and required advertiser permission; supported dimensions, metrics and scopes are account- and version-specific. |
| TikTok for Business MCP Server | TikTok's August 2026 guide describes agent tools for campaign management, reports, audiences and creative operations | It includes write actions, so an agent connection is not equivalent to read-only reporting. |
| Creative Center Top Ads | A free public source for trends and selected high-performing creative examples; TikTok’s Top Ads guidance says ads meet performance thresholds and have advertiser authorization to appear. | Treat as selected, authorized creative examples, not a complete ad archive or advertiser campaign/spend/conversion report. |
