DeMellier bag data: sizes, materials and variant context
A source-specific DeMellier guide to handbag models, dimensions, materials, currencies, returns, repairs and robots.txt context.
Separate the New York silhouettes from their color and material options
DeMellier’s direct catalog groups bags by family and type, then offers distinct colors, materials and sizes. In the New York family, The New York, The Midi New York, The New York Shoulder and The New York Crossbody are separately named silhouettes. Keep the exact model identity before attaching an option or offer.

| Catalog level | Examples on DeMellier pages | Record rule |
|---|---|---|
| Family | The Brooklyn, New York, Hudson, Siena, Stockholm and other named collections on the current all-products page. | Keep the family label for navigation and grouping; it is not a product SKU. |
| Silhouette | The New York, The Midi New York, The New York Shoulder and The New York Crossbody. | Preserve the exact product name and canonical product URL. Do not collapse similar names into one model. |
| Selected option | Black small grain, mocha suede, raffia with smooth leather, and other displayed finishes. | Attach material, color and hardware to the exact selected listing or variant. |
| Collection filters | Bag type, colour, material, laptop size and hardware appear as separate filters. | Keep filter values as source taxonomy; a filter label is not proof every bag supports every option. |
Compare the New York and Midi New York using the source’s measurement labels
The two black small-grain product pages show why “same family” does not mean same dimensions or device fit. The values below were checked on the official pages October 4, 2026. Keep metric and imperial strings as displayed: The New York page’s top-width pair conflicts, because 58 cm converts to about 22.83 inches while the page prints 22.1 inches.

Keep leather finish, lining, hardware and care at the option level
DeMellier product pages describe the selected face material and finish alongside lining, hardware and construction. Current collection filters include small grain, fine grain, smooth, suede, raffia, canvas, hair calf and croc-effect. Do not carry one finish or care rule across every color or silhouette.

| Product detail | What to preserve | Why the distinction matters |
|---|---|---|
| Exterior material and finish | The exact source label, such as small-grain cowhide, suede, raffia or a mixed-material combination. | A colorway can pair two materials; it is not always one uniform leather finish. |
| Lining and construction | For the cited black small-grain examples, the product page lists a black 100% organic-cotton lining; it also describes closures and pockets. | Keep details tied to the specific product page instead of applying them to all bags. |
| Hardware and color | The selected hardware finish and bag color as shown on that product option. | Gold and silver hardware appear as distinct catalog filters and can differ by offer. |
| Care instruction | Link care to the actual material: DeMellier advises avoiding excess water on natural-finish leather, warns that suede dye can transfer and gives raffia a separate avoid-liquids and gentle-cleaning instruction. | Care is material-dependent; do not convert brand instructions into a universal waterproof claim. |
Treat local prices, personalization and stock labels as dated offers
DeMellier offers a country and currency selector; its FAQ says international prices use exchange rates that may be updated. Its current shipping page says import taxes/duties are included for countries served and shows region-specific delivery windows. Product and collection pages can also show pre-order, sold-out or other availability wording. Record the selected storefront, option and capture time with each offer.

| Offer field | Capture with the product | Avoid inferring |
|---|---|---|
| Price and currency | Displayed amount, currency, destination locale and the page’s taxes/duties wording. | A direct conversion between market prices or a fixed future exchange rate. |
| Availability | Exact page label, selected material/color, page URL and observation time. | Store-level units, a reservation, or the same state for sibling colors. |
| Delivery context | Selected destination and delivery method, the quoted regional window, and the source’s taxes/duties wording for that market. | One delivery promise for all countries or order times. |
| Personalization | Whether monogramming is offered for that product and whether it was selected. | That a personalized item has the same return eligibility as a standard item. |
Keep shipping, returns and monogramming conditions with the order
The brand’s policies affect how an offer should be interpreted. DeMellier describes worldwide shipping and returns, with delivery windows depending on destination and service. Its Returns page requires an unused/resalable item, original packaging and a registered return within 28 days of receipt; personalized items and partner-retailer purchases have separate rules.

| Policy detail | Published condition | Useful record context |
|---|---|---|
| Return window and condition | Register within 28 days of receipt; item must be unused and resalable, with original packaging including boxes and dust bags and the protective film still attached to hardware. | Keep the policy version or review date, purchase channel and condition requirement. |
| Exchanges | DeMellier says it does not process exchanges; the customer returns the item and places a new order. | Do not model an exchange as a variant change on the original order. |
| Personalized item | Personalized products delivered as described and in good condition cannot be cancelled, exchanged or returned after the order is placed. | Record monogram choice separately from ordinary color and material variants. |
| Partner-retailer purchase | The relevant retailer’s return or cancellation policy applies; the item should not be returned directly to DeMellier. | Keep seller and purchase channel so the right policy is attached. |
Do not turn lifetime repairs into a lifetime warranty claim
DeMellier advertises a 12-month guarantee and a lifetime repair service, but its care page defines who can use that service and what it covers. The service is not transferable to a second owner, and a repair after the first 12 months may require a quote.

| Service signal | Eligibility or limit stated by DeMellier | Record without overclaiming |
|---|---|---|
| 12-month guarantee | The product page describes a 12-month guarantee; the linked service terms require proof of purchase from DeMellier or an authorized stockist. | Store as a 12-month guarantee with its source and purchase context, not a product lifetime warranty. |
| Lifetime repairs | Available to the original purchaser with proof of purchase; purchases from second-hand or unauthorized sellers are excluded. | Keep service duration and owner eligibility as separate fields. |
| Repairs after 12 months | DeMellier may provide a repair quote and associated shipping costs. | Do not label post-guarantee repairs as free. |
| Coverage limits | Normal leather wear is excluded; marks or stains are not repaired, and replacement hardware depends on parts availability. | Preserve the cited exclusions and parts caveat with service information. |
Read DeMellier’s robots rules separately from its content-use terms
The robots file gives path-level crawler directions and includes a Shopify comment prohibiting automated scraping and checkout flows that complete payment without a final human review. The separate website Terms say content use is limited to personal, non-commercial use and direct other content-use requests to written permission. Do not treat robots.txt as a commercial content license or attribute a specific scraping clause to the Terms page.

| Source | What it publishes | How to keep the scope accurate |
|---|---|---|
| robots.txt path rules | The wildcard group excludes account, cart, checkout, orders, search, filtered/sorted collection URLs, preview/tracking parameters and internal endpoints; product paths are not broadly disallowed in that group. | Describe the actual path directives as crawl signals, not permission to copy or reuse content. |
| Robots comment block | It says automated scraping and purchase flows without final human review are not permitted, and directs legitimate checkout integrators to Shopify Checkout Kit. | Keep its explicit checkout/automation language separate from product-response or feed claims. |
| Website Terms, section 4 | The Terms limit content use to personal, non-commercial use, provide a written-permission request route for other content use, and separately require prior written consent before linking to DeMellier. The Terms do not expressly say “scraping.” | Attribute the content-use and link conditions to Terms §4; do not use the Terms as a technical robots directive. |
