ASOS product data: Product Codes, variants and Brand Partners
Understand ASOS Product Codes, product-page IDs, apparel sizes, Brand Partner seller and shipper roles, and ASOS Stylist in ChatGPT.
ASOS combines its own fashion labels with partner brands
ASOS plc describes the retailer as bringing together its own brands and products from hundreds of partner brands. The ASOS.com domain identifies the storefront, but it does not identify a product’s maker, seller or shipper. Keep the retailer, brand label, item page and fulfilment offer linked as separate entities.

| Entity | Record for ASOS | Keep distinct from |
|---|---|---|
| Storefront | ASOS.com and the selected country storefront | The product manufacturer or displayed brand |
| ASOS-owned label | The exact brand shown on an ASOS product page, such as ASOS DESIGN | ASOS as retailer and the product-page identifier |
| Partner brand | Named Brand Partner and the specific item sold through ASOS | The party that ships or processes a return |
| Discovery surface | Product detail page, video content or ASOS Stylist in ChatGPT when observed | The product record and the seller’s offer |
Keep ASOS URL identifiers, Product Codes and selected options separate
A U.S. ASOS product page can expose more than one identifier for the same item. In the linked field example, the numeric value in the /prd/ path is 208398642, while Product Details label a separate Product Code, 144207863. Preserve both under their source labels. If the page exposes selected options, record its color and size separately from the page’s own brand label and fit/model details; none replaces either identifier. The linked page is an identifier and field example, not a current offer.

| Product evidence | What the ASOS page shows | How to preserve it |
|---|---|---|
| Page URL ID | The numeric identifier in the /prd/ path, such as 208398642 in the linked example | Keep the full storefront URL and path identifier in a URL field; do not relabel it as Product Code. |
| Product Code | Product Details separately display Product Code 144207863 in the linked example | Store the exact source label and value; do not equate it with the URL ID or stock code |
| Selected option | The color and size selected on the local product page at observation time, when shown | Save the exact selected option and market size label; another color or size is a related option, not the same selection. |
| Fit and garment details | Page fit label, model height and worn size, fabric composition and care when supplied | Retain source wording and model context; do not turn it into a personal size recommendation. |
| Offer state | Current price or availability message for the selected option when visible | Attach seller, market and observation time; a status is not an inventory count |
ASOS Brand Partner seller and shipper roles change the offer
Current U.S. Brand Partner pages distinguish two exact labels: “Sold and Shipped by [Brand]” and “Sold by [Brand], Shipped by ASOS.” The first makes the named partner both seller and shipper; the second keeps the partner as seller and ASOS as shipper. Seller, shipper, delivery choices and return route are separate facts, so do not infer them from the brand or ASOS URL.

| Product-page label | Seller and shipper | What changes |
|---|---|---|
| ASOS item | Sold by ASOS and shipped from an ASOS warehouse | ASOS offer and fulfilment context |
| “Sold and Shipped by [Brand]” | The named ASOS Brand Partner sells and ships the item | U.S. guidance says parcels may arrive separately, Standard Delivery is the only checkout option, and address restrictions are checked at checkout; return the item directly to the brand, whose return policy is at its discretion. |
| “Sold by [Brand], Shipped by ASOS” | The named ASOS Brand Partner sells the item; ASOS ships it | ASOS delivery services and ASOS return options apply to this item. |
| Partner price | The Brand Partner sets the amount for the item it sells | The price may differ from an ASOS offer for the same style or another size |
| Return route | Partner-shipped items return directly to the brand under its policy; ASOS-shipped partner items follow ASOS return options | Record seller, shipper and return route independently, with the storefront and checked time. |
Compare the selected ASOS offer in its local storefront and checkout context
Start with the applicable country storefront and preserve its displayed currency and market size label. An item-page amount applies to the shown product option and seller; it is not the final order total. The U.S.-specific tax and delivery rows below describe the U.S. Terms only. Other storefronts may have different prices, currencies, taxes, checkout, shipping and return paths.

| Price component | ASOS states | Record it as |
|---|---|---|
| Selected item amount | The local product page displays an amount for the selected product option in that storefront’s currency | Capture the amount, displayed currency, storefront, Product Code, selected color and size, seller, and observation time. |
| Partner-set price | Brand Partner items are priced by the partner and may not match the ASOS price for the same item | Keep each partner offer tied to its named seller and selected option; it is not a universal style price. |
| U.S. sales tax | ASOS’s U.S. Terms say displayed prices exclude Sales Tax; Sales Tax is added at checkout where applicable, and other taxes may apply | Label the storefront as U.S. and keep the displayed item amount separate from the checkout tax and total. |
| Delivery | ASOS’s U.S. Terms say delivery costs may depend on order value, delivery option and address; checkout shows additional charges in the total | Record delivery method, destination and checkout total separately from the product-page amount; preserve any partner parcel split. |
Treat fit copy and Virtual Try-On as context, not a size guarantee
ASOS product pages may give useful garment descriptions and model measurements, but they do not establish that a size will fit a different body. Preserve source fit information without turning it into personal advice.
Scroll to compare →
| Fit evidence | What it can support | What it cannot prove |
|---|---|---|
| Model height and worn size | The fit context shown for the product photography | A precise body measurement, size recommendation or guarantee for another person. |
| Fit label | The page's own description, such as regular, oversized or slim fit | A consistent fit standard across brands, product cuts or countries. |
| Color and imagery | The displayed product image, selected color and associated product description | A calibrated color measurement or exact appearance on every screen. |
| ASOS Virtual Try-On | ASOS describes its generated view as an illustrative browsing aid | ASOS's terms say the simulation is not an accurate representation of size, color, proportions or fit. |
| Practical comparison | Keep option, model notes and fit-copy capture attached to that product page | Medical, body or purchase advice inferred from the catalog alone. |
ASOS Stylist connects product and video discovery with ChatGPT
On May 20, 2026, ASOS plc announced that it had launched ASOS Stylist as a ChatGPT app for customers in the UK and U.S. The announcement says the experience uses structured, machine-readable product-catalogue and video-library data to support fashion discovery, styling guidance and shoppable video, with a handoff to ASOS.com. This is a named retailer-owned AI discovery surface; it does not show that every ASOS product appears in general ChatGPT answers or that ASOS exposes a public product feed.

| Published detail | What ASOS announced | What the announcement does not grant |
|---|---|---|
| Customer surface | ASOS said customers could discover products and video content through ASOS Stylist in ChatGPT in the UK and U.S. | The release does not establish availability to every user or in every market today. |
| Structured catalogue and video data | ASOS said its product catalogue and video library are prepared as machine-readable data for LLM retrieval through partner Bambuser technology. | The announcement does not publish a field-level schema or open product-feed credentials. |
| Discovery context | Customers can browse by category, occasion or trend, receive styling guidance, and explore products in video. | This is a source-specific app experience, not proof that general ChatGPT responses include all ASOS products. |
| Shopping handoff | The release describes product details and pricing followed by a click through to ASOS.com. | A discovery result is not an order, guaranteed current offer or stock confirmation. |
| AI-search implication | Structured item data combined with video and editorial context creates a richer retrieval surface. | A first-party app integration does not grant unrelated services permission to collect ASOS Website data. |
ASOS U.S. Terms prohibit automated Website extraction
The current U.S. Terms say that automated systems or software must not be used to extract data from the Website, explicitly naming screen scraping. They also limit Website content to personal use and require express permission for commercial use. These statements are specific to the U.S. Terms page; check the applicable market rather than treating them as universal wording.
Scroll to compare →
| Boundary | ASOS's published rule | How to treat the source |
|---|---|---|
| Automated collection | The Terms name screen scraping and prohibit automated systems or software used to extract Website data | Do not treat public product pages or search visibility as permission for a collection service. |
| Commercial reuse | Website content is for personal use; commercial Website use requires ASOS's express permission | Obtain applicable permission or use an explicitly authorized partner integration. |
| Business purchases | ASOS's U.S. Terms say ASOS and Brand Partner products are not for sale to businesses; its Brand Partner help also limits those items to consumers | Do not frame the U.S. storefront as an authorized wholesale or B2B purchasing feed. |
| Partner integrations | ASOS announced its own ChatGPT Stylist experience as an integration with Bambuser technology | An approved first-party integration is distinct from access granted to unrelated third parties. |
| Accuracy and availability | ASOS says orders remain subject to availability and confirmation of order price | Save the source URL and time; do not claim that a page state guarantees a fulfilled order. |
