TOPDON data extraction: diagnostic tools, vehicle fit and SGW
Compare TOPDON scanners and battery testers by task, verify compatibility at the vehicle and function level, and retain adapter versions and Secure Gateway conditions.
Diagnostic scanners and battery testers serve different jobs
TOPDON sells equipment with different measurement targets. The model identifier should resolve whether a record describes vehicle-system diagnostics or a battery test before it is compared with another product.

| Model or family | Published task and scope | Useful product fields |
|---|---|---|
| ArtiDiag Pro | TOPDON lists full-system diagnostics for 100+ makes, 35 maintenance services, bidirectional control and ECU coding. | This is the passenger-car scan profile; the page lists actuation and coding features alongside the broad coverage claim, with additional functions varying by vehicle system. |
| ArtiDiag HD | The HD page targets trucks, buses and construction equipment across 60+ brands; it lists full-system diagnostics and 10 service functions. | Its listed vehicle class is commercial/heavy equipment rather than passenger cars. TOPDON also specifies two years of Wi-Fi software updates for this model. |
| BT600 | A separate battery tester: battery tests for 12V batteries, plus cranking and charging tests for 12V/24V lead-acid batteries. | The BT600 measures battery condition rather than vehicle ECUs; its battery-test voltage scope differs from the higher-voltage cranking and charging tests. |
Vehicle coverage depends on the target system and function
A product-page total such as 100+ makes is a broad model-family claim, not a match for a particular vehicle operation. TOPDON's coverage inquiry exposes a more specific lookup grain.

| Coverage dimension | TOPDON's lookup or listing detail | Comparison use |
|---|---|---|
| Vehicle identity | The coverage inquiry offers make, model and year selection. | A vehicle match is specific to its make, model and year; a make-only claim does not establish model-year support. |
| Diagnostic target | The inquiry also offers system, function and sub-function selection, with separate vehicle- and target-based searches. | The target system and operation are part of the compatibility result; a broad full-system label does not show that every operation is available on every vehicle. |
| Product-page breadth | ArtiDiag Pro's broad 100+ makes claim appears alongside 35 maintenance services, but its page says special functions vary by vehicle make and system. | The 100+ count describes advertised product reach; the separate vehicle/function lookup answers an individual compatibility question. |
ArtiDiag Pro's current version transition changes the kit
The product page reviewed for this record says old and new ArtiDiag Pro versions are in transition and shipments may contain either version. The adapter set and related software should remain tied to the version actually supplied.
Scroll to compare →
| Version detail | Published change | Order-level distinction |
|---|---|---|
| OBD II-16E connection | The newer version combines the diagnostic cable and OBD II-16E adapter into one cable. | The product has a different physical connection arrangement across its older and newer versions. |
| Older adapters | The transition note lists BMW-20, Benz BZ-38 and Chrysler 12+8 adapters among the removed items. | Those older adapters are listed among items removed from the newer version, so adapter support depends on the version shipped. |
| FCA function | The newer version description says FCA SCW software is included in place of the Chrysler 12+8 adapter. | The newer description lists an FCA software feature in place of a physical adapter; the two are different kit attributes. |
Secure Gateway access has its own authorization and fee path
TOPDON describes Secure Gateway as an additional access condition for some vehicle functions. The tool needs network access and OEM authorization; the support page says the vehicle makers set and collect gateway fees.

| Gateway family | TOPDON's typical model-year cue | Access path described by TOPDON |
|---|---|---|
| FCA / Stellantis brands | Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge, Ram, Fiat and Alfa Romeo; typically 2018+ models. | North America uses AutoAuth pay-per-use or annual rates; other regions use subscriptions through the tool's Mall. |
| VAG SFD | Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda and Seat on MQB Evo or MEB platforms, including Golf 8 and ID series; typically 2019+. | TOPDON lists individual digital passes or annual unlocks through the tool. |
| Renault and Dacia | TOPDON names Clio, Megane and Espace examples; typically 2019+ models. | The support page describes on-device specialized token bundles. |
| Nissan and Infiniti | Pathfinder, Rogue and Sentra examples; typically 2020+ models. | TOPDON describes an AutoAuth authorization path for North American models. |
