Tmall product data: brand stores, SKUs & offer terms
Map Tmall stores, products and selected SKUs; preserve Chinese option labels, CNY prices, coupon conditions and Tmall Global or Supermarket context.
Keep Tmall store, product and selected SKU as separate records
Tmall combines branded storefronts, product pages and selectable product options. Alibaba describes brands and retailers as operating their own Tmall storefronts with distinct brand identities and merchandising; a storefront, its product and one selected option are still different comparison entities.

| Record level | Preserve together | Do not infer |
|---|---|---|
| Store | Store URL and source identifier; displayed store name, brand and category context | An authorization, affiliation or warranty solely from a store name or logo. |
| Product | Product URL/source item ID; original Chinese title; category path; source-stated product details | A product title as a unique model or proof that two listings are the same item. |
| Selected SKU | Displayed option labels and selected combination; source option identifier if present; its price and availability signal | That a price range's low value applies to all options or that an internal normalized key is a Tmall SKU. |
| Observation | Capture time; item and selected option; displayed currency/price label; destination context when shown | A completed order, durable stock count or delivery promise outside the displayed scope. |
Read Tmall price labels with the offer conditions
A displayed amount can depend on the selected option and a separate store, campaign or membership benefit. Alibaba's March 2026 merchant update describes expanding 88VIP vouchers and AI-powered store coupons, so preserve the displayed eligibility and terms rather than turning every benefit into an unconditional price reduction.

| Offer evidence | Record | Comparison rule |
|---|---|---|
| Option price | Selected option, displayed amount, currency and original price label | Compare like-for-like option combinations and keep the capture time. |
| Reference amount | Reference amount and its source label, next to the option price | Do not treat a reference or crossed-out amount as a universal prior transaction price. |
| Store or campaign benefit | Coupon/subsidy text, threshold, eligible item or buyer, and visible validity period | Apply it only when the source says it qualifies for the same option and observation context. |
| 88VIP or member offer | Member-benefit label and its stated conditions when visible | Keep member-specific pricing separate from a general visitor-facing ask; do not infer eligibility from a banner alone. |
| Shipping or service promise | Displayed delivery, shipping-cost or service text with stated market/destination | Do not generalize a promise from one item, seller or location to the whole marketplace. |
Keep Tmall marketplace, Global and Supermarket context distinct
Alibaba describes Tmall brand storefronts, the cross-border Tmall Global channel and Tmall Supermarket as distinct parts of its China commerce experience; it also says shoppers can encounter Tmall merchant listings through the Taobao app. Preserve the originating surface label and the specific seller or service context visible on the item page; channel names alone do not establish a delivery route.

| Displayed context | Source-published role | Observation boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Tmall brand storefront | Brands and retailers run storefronts with their own brand identity and merchandising. | Keep the store identifier with each product; do not treat the brand identity as independent verification of every claim. |
| Tmall Global | Alibaba describes it as a route for overseas brands and retailers to reach consumers in China. | Record the channel label, origin and delivery details only where the item or page states them; a foreign brand alone is insufficient. |
| Tmall Supermarket | Alibaba's annual report describes a daily-needs/FMCG and general-merchandise channel with same- or next-day service in its stated context. | Keep the displayed channel and destination-specific delivery promise attached to the offer; do not apply it to ordinary Tmall storefronts. |
| Seller or fulfillment detail | Store, seller, origin, service and destination fields as actually displayed. | Do not convert platform-level descriptions into a product-level seller, warehouse or delivery fact. |
Preserve Chinese source labels beside any enrichment
The current Tmall storefront is Chinese-language and publishes the original product, store and offer presentation. Keep source text intact so translation and taxonomy decisions remain reviewable instead of silently replacing the evidence.

| Source value | Optional enrichment | Provenance to retain |
|---|---|---|
| Product title and description | Translated or normalized title | Original text, translation language, method and revision. |
| SKU options | Mapped color, size or specification attributes | Original option label/value and the mapping applied; preserve unknown values. |
| Category path | Internal category or product taxonomy | Original Tmall path and mapping version. |
| Campaign, voucher or price label | Reviewed condition type or comparable-price field | Original Chinese label and the interpretation source; keep uncertain meanings unresolved. |
Follow Tmall's posted automation and content rules
Tmall's legal statement took effect on 7 October 2026. It says third-party intelligent agents or automated programs need prior explicit written permission and the required safety/compliance review before accessing or operating platform services, and separately bars unauthorized automated acquisition or use of Tmall content. The same statement says store and product information is uploaded by users, who bear responsibility for their submissions.

| Source statement | How to frame the record | Boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Automated access and operation | Attribute the restrictions to Tmall's current posted legal statement and preserve its effective date. | Public visibility is not permission; do not mask automation, collect account/order data, or bypass a security check. |
| Store and product content | Treat third-party store and item claims as user-submitted source content unless separately verified. | Do not describe seller statements as independently checked facts or reproduce content without a permitted basis. |
| Listing and account data | Keep public listing/store observations separate from member eligibility, buyer identity, orders and merchant analytics. | Do not present account or transaction records as public product-page fields. |
