The GLD Shop product data: metals, chain sizes and sets
Compare GLD jewelry by metal base, finish, chain length, width and weight. Separate configurable chain-and-pendant sets from individual pieces and item-specific terms.
Metal base is distinct from the finish name
GLD’s chain pages show why a color or collection label is not a complete material description. Compare the stated base and finish separately, and keep karat as its own value when the page supplies it.

| Official example | Source-reported material | Comparison treatment |
|---|---|---|
| 5mm Miami Cuban Chain in Sterling Silver | 925 sterling silver with white rhodium finish | Record the silver base and rhodium finish separately; the page reports length-specific weights and a ±2 g tolerance. |
| 5mm Miami Cuban Chain in Yellow Gold Vermeil | 18K gold vermeil over 925 silver | Keep the vermeil construction distinct from solid gold and from a gold-colored plated finish. |
| 5mm Miami Cuban Chain in White Gold | The page specifies a 316L stainless steel base and a polished white finish. | Retain the product title/color and the separately stated base material; do not infer a gold alloy from ‘White Gold’ in the name. |
| 5mm Solid Gold Miami Cuban Link Chain | Selectable 10k or 14k solid gold | Store the karat selection with the chosen length; the page reports different weights by karat and length with a ±3 g tolerance. |
Chain length and width shape the selected variant
A chain family can span several lengths and widths, and GLD publishes some weights against length. Keep the unit, selected size and source-stated tolerance attached to each specification rather than treating one value as a family-wide constant.

| Field | GLD page example | How to preserve it |
|---|---|---|
| Product family | Miami Cuban Chain | Use the product page/title as the reference and distinguish it from related material or finish pages. |
| Length and width | The cited sterling-silver example lists 16–24 in lengths at 5 mm width; the cited solid-gold example includes lengths through 28 in. | Store length in inches and width in millimeters; available lengths can differ by material/product page. |
| Weight and tolerance | The sterling-silver page reports weight by selected length with ±2 g tolerance; the solid-gold page reports weights by length and karat with ±3 g tolerance. | Keep each page’s value, selection and tolerance together. A reported weight is not a precision guarantee or a substitute for material identity. |
A Make a Set offer contains four chosen pieces
GLD’s Make a Set page describes a configurable selection of two chains and two pendants. Preserve the named set and its chosen pieces as a composition; the bundle is not one chain with a larger quantity.

| Record layer | GLD example | Keep distinct |
|---|---|---|
| Parent composition | Make a Set; choose a gold color and select any two chains plus any two pendants. | Set name and set-level offer are separate from component products. |
| Chain components | The selection flow asks for each chain and its length, then repeats for the second chain. | Keep each chain's product reference, selected length and stated material/color as separate choices. |
| Pendant components | The selection flow asks for a pendant after each chain choice. | Retain both pendant references independently; do not invent an option ID when the page does not show one. |
| Returns and warranty | GLD's published return page states a 14-day window for eligible unworn items and names exclusions; its warranty page describes coverage and process fees by product class. | These terms can differ by item/material. Link the current policy and avoid turning a general storefront banner into a guarantee for every piece. |
