Shady Rays product data: lenses, fit and protection
Compare Shady Rays eyewear by frame, lens line, tint, VLT, fit label, interchangeable lens set, return scope and replacement coverage.
A frame page can expose separate color, size and lens choices
The reviewed Signature Series Blackout page presents lens-line choices within a frame/color listing. A product URL identifies the frame page, while a selected color, size or lens line may identify a distinct option. Keep only choices exposed on that particular page.

| Record grain | Useful public fields | Keep distinct from |
|---|---|---|
| Frame model | Product URL or handle; named style; observation date | A selected lens line or a different frame style. |
| Frame finish | Exact color/finish label and visible option identifier | Lens tint or mirror color when the page offers both. |
| Lens line | Source label such as Original, S|R PRO or COLORUSH; selected option identifier where shown | A universal choice assumed to exist on every frame. |
| Size option | Exact Standard, Small or other selectable size label; variant ID if visible | A broad fit-guide label or an invented millimeter measurement. |
Attach VLT and lens claims to the selected lens option
On the reviewed Signature Series Blackout listing, the source reports 9% VLT for Original, 9% for S|R PRO and 16% for COLORUSH. It also reports differences in lens material and coatings. Those are page-specific specifications and brand statements; the same frame name alone does not identify the lens fields.

| Lens field | Source example or value | Comparison context |
|---|---|---|
| Lens line | Original, S|R PRO or COLORUSH when exposed by the selected product page | An option on a named frame, not a brand-wide lens choice. |
| Tint and mirror | Exact source-reported tint and mirror-color labels | A separate field from frame color or finish. |
| VLT | Percentage as printed for the selected option; the reviewed Blackout page shows 9%, 9% and 16% for its three lens lines | Keep the number with its option and observation date; do not treat it as use advice. |
| Material and coatings | Polycarbonate/material and coatings listed for the exact lens line | Do not copy a sibling option's coating or infer unlisted durability. |
| Polarization and UV statement | Whether the page labels the option polarized and its stated UV-protection claim | A source claim attached to that option, not an independent test result. |
Model React as a frame linked to interchangeable lenses
The React Type R page separates the frame choice from magnetic lens choices and links a collection of individual lenses. This creates a frame-to-lens relationship that is different from a sunglass page where the tint is part of one fixed product option.

| Component | Useful fields | Relationship to the set |
|---|---|---|
| React frame | Frame model and selected finish/color; product URL; observation date | Parent component in a frame-and-lens combination. |
| Interchangeable lens | Lens model/label; tint; polarized or clear as the page states; individual product URL when available | A replaceable component that may be sold separately. |
| Configured pair | Selected frame and lens; quantity of included lenses only when stated | A purchased configuration, distinct from the frame model alone. |
| Case or bundle item | Included case and any explicitly listed bundle components | Accessory count, not additional lenses or frame variants unless the page says so. |
Keep fit-guide wording with its model and size option
Shady Rays uses selectable size labels such as Standard and Small for some models, while fit guides use broader text such as Small to Medium, Medium to Large or Extra Large. Preserve both fields with the exact frame page; the fit label alone is not a numeric size chart.

| Source display | Useful comparison field | Boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Selectable size | Exact option label and option/variant identifier where displayed | Do not assume all colors or lens lines have the same available sizes. |
| Fit guide | Exact source text tied to its frame and page date | Do not convert a descriptive label to face width or frame dimensions. |
| Frame dimensions | Each numeric measurement and unit only if directly displayed | Do not estimate measurements from a fit illustration. |
| Collection grouping | Collection URL and listed size labels for each linked product | A collection's “small fit” name does not replace product-level choices. |
Separate returns, replacement programs and defect warranty
The return policy, Lost & Broken program and Limited Craftsmanship Warranty cover different events and have separate item, market and purchase-channel rules. The current Protection Programs page states up to two replacements of the same eligible item within two years for purchases on or after January 1, 2023, with processing fees and supply limits. It describes the craftsmanship warranty separately, including a shorter period for certain lens damage.

| Program | Fields to retain | Scope shown by the source |
|---|---|---|
| U.S. return or exchange | Market; purchase date; item category; original condition; policy page/date | 30 days for most items, with Mystery Pairs, Outlet and prescription items treated separately. |
| International return | Destination; return/refund shipping treatment; item eligibility | Policy differs from U.S. rules; international refunds exclude shipping fees. |
| Lost & Broken replacement | Eligible product class; loss versus damage; purchase channel; window and replacement count; fee basis | The program has eligible-item and exclusion lists, up to two same-item replacements for the stated two-year cohort, and changeable processing fees. |
| Craftsmanship warranty | Covered item; defect type; term; market/purchase basis | The page states two years for covered defects and one year for lens scratches and mirror-tint/anti-reflective degradation; loss and wear are separate. |
| Prescription eyewear | Public product category and public lens-option names only | A separate policy lane; individual prescription values, pupillary distance, uploads and customer claim records are not public catalog fields. |
Keep checkout and posted site terms tied to their date
Shipping options and rates are order context: the shipping policy says rates are calculated at checkout from the Kentucky fulfillment center. The Terms page was last modified May 11, 2026; §7 describes use restrictions for the Services and their content, while §13 says product descriptions/prices can change and items can be discontinued.

| Source context | Statement to attribute | Data-model boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Shipping option | Standard and Rush rates populate at checkout; the policy identifies the Kentucky fulfillment center | Destination, service, rate and observation date belong with the checkout, not the frame. |
| Terms §7 | Posted Terms describe personal non-commercial use, prohibit commercial use of Services/content, and address automatic access for any purpose including monitoring/copying; manual monitoring/copying is also addressed | Report the section and revision date as source text; do not turn it into a legal conclusion or permission claim. |
| Terms §13 | Product descriptions/prices may change and products may be discontinued; product color and size/shape display can vary | Offer, stock and screen-rendered appearance are observations, not fixed catalog attributes. |
| Promotion or price | Source label, selected option, currency/market and observed date when necessary | Do not present current prices or temporary pair offers as durable specifications. |
