Petco catalog: pet, farm and feed products
A guide to Petco’s multi-species catalog, supplier-sourced product details, farm and feed departments, local services, and posted use limits.
Petco is a retailer and service network
Petco’s consumer storefront spans an online and physical retail catalog alongside services offered through Petco locations and partners. Its Terms name Petco Animal Supplies Stores, Inc. and its subsidiaries, divisions, and affiliates as the operator for covered sites and services. A product listing may also contain details attributed to a manufacturer, supplier, or another third party; that is a separate source of information, not evidence that Petco independently verified it.

| Concept | What it describes | Keep distinct from |
|---|---|---|
| Retailer and site | The Petco storefront at petco.com and its physical retail locations. | The legal operator wording in Petco’s Terms and the authorship of product details. |
| Catalog item | A product family with source-assigned categories and, where displayed, selectable item options. | A service appointment, subscription event, or location-specific fulfillment choice. |
| Service network | Retail-adjacent services such as grooming, training, veterinary care, pharmacy, and adoption. | A product attribute or a claim that a service is offered at every location. |
| Information publisher | Petco may present details supplied by a manufacturer, supplier, or other third party. | An independent test, recommendation, or verification by Petco. |
The taxonomy spans companion animals and farm departments
Petco’s catalog is organized by animal and department, rather than by one universal pet-food structure. Its current Farm & Feed area includes horse or equine, chicken or poultry, and pig departments. These are catalog groupings; they do not establish that similarly named products are interchangeable or appropriate for a particular animal.

| Catalog branch | Source-level grouping | Useful classification boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Companion animals | Dog, cat, bird, fish, reptile, and small-pet departments. | Keep species and Petco’s department label separate from a product’s brand or item type. |
| Farm & Feed: equine | Horse and equine categories, including feed, riding, stable, and care departments. | Equine is a source taxonomy label; this page does not assess care or product suitability. |
| Farm & Feed: poultry | Chicken and poultry categories for feed and related supplies. | Poultry department labels should remain distinct from general bird categories. |
| Farm & Feed: pig | Pig categories for food and other supplies. | Keep pig classifications separate from small-pet categories that happen to use the word “pig.” |
| Navigation facets | Petco may expose brand, type, size, life stage, or other category facets. | A filter label is a retailer classification, not an individualized recommendation. |
Product fields need source and option context
A useful catalog description separates the product family from a selected option and preserves who supplied each claim. Petco’s product-information notice says some details come from manufacturers, suppliers, or other third parties and are not independently verified by Petco. The field groups below are conceptual; they are not a sample Petco record.

| Field group | Information to distinguish | Why provenance matters |
|---|---|---|
| Identity | Source page, retailer identifier if displayed, product family, item type, and brand or manufacturer attribution. | A family label can cover multiple options; preserve the identifier and page context when available. |
| Animal and department | Species, Farm & Feed branch when applicable, department, and source-assigned category facets. | Do not merge companion-animal and farm categories solely because their labels look similar. |
| Selected option | Formula or type, package count or size, and the unit attached to that option when shown. | Option and package context define what a product description refers to; this guide supplies no live values. |
| Supplier statements | Ingredient, analysis, material, or other descriptive panels with their displayed attribution. | Keep supplier-authored statements separate from facts Petco independently verified or tested. |
| Unknown or absent | Fields not shown, not attributable, or not comparable across options. | Preserve an unknown instead of filling it with assumptions or a value from a different item. |
Autoship and promotions are program states
Petco’s posted Autoship terms distinguish a possible first-order promotion from later subscription renewals at the then-current product price. That distinction describes how the program is presented; this guide contains no current offer, price, eligibility result, or subscription record.

| Concept | How it differs | Safe informational boundary |
|---|---|---|
| One-time purchase | A retail transaction for a chosen catalog option. | Do not treat a one-time purchase context as an Autoship enrollment. |
| Subscription enrollment | A separate program state with a selected item and recurring order settings. | Keep cadence and customer account or order details out of public examples. |
| First-order promotion | A promotion may apply to an eligible first subscription order under its terms. | No amount, current eligibility, or offer availability is represented here. |
| Renewal | The posted terms describe later renewals using the product’s then-current price. | A renewal is distinct from an initial promotion and can change over time. |
| Observation context | Program terms and product configuration can change independently. | This page is an editorial reference, not a live offer feed or price history. |
Fulfillment and services depend on item and place
Shipping, delivery, and pickup describe how an item may be fulfilled; grooming, training, veterinary care, and other services describe separate offerings. Petco’s public guidance makes fulfillment and services dependent on the item, location, or provider. A category page cannot establish live inventory, appointment availability, or service suitability.

| Concept | Context that may matter | Do not combine with |
|---|---|---|
| Shipping or delivery | Selected item, destination context, and the channel’s current terms. | A store’s shelf inventory or another delivery area. |
| Pickup | Item eligibility, selected store, and the order’s fulfillment choice. | A catalog-wide stock count or a guarantee that another store has the item. |
| Store or provider service | Service category, location, provider, and any appointment context. | A product variant, an always-available service, or a veterinary recommendation. |
| Time and market | The place and observation date associated with a service or fulfillment statement. | A permanent property of the product record or a promise about future availability. |
Petco’s posted terms, privacy notice, and crawler rules set boundaries
Petco’s Terms of Use, effective July 5, 2025, restrict data gathering and extraction, commercial or derivative reuse, AI and machine-learning uses, and deep links to Petco pages other than its homepage without the stated written permission. Its Privacy Policy lists customer, household, transaction, precise-location, and pet-related information. Petco’s robots.txt was reviewed on October 5, 2026; its disallowed paths do not create an authorization for paths not listed. This is a dated summary, not legal advice.

| Privacy Policy | Effective August 31, 2026; last updated August 17, 2026. | Customer, household, account, order, payment, appointment, precise-location, and pet-health details are excluded. |
