MediaMarkt Germany product data: offers, specs and ranking
Map MediaMarkt Germany product IDs, electronics specs, marketplace sellers, refurbished condition, price context and disclosed search-ranking signals.
This guide covers the MediaMarkt Germany shop
The product and marketplace records described here belong to the German consumer storefront at mediamarkt.de. The mediamarkt.com domain now redirects to Ceconomy corporate pages, so it does not identify the German product shop. MediaMarkt Germany includes products sold directly by MediaMarkt and offers from marketplace sellers; this page explains how to keep those product, seller and market records distinct. It does not describe every national MediaMarkt site.

| Scope | What belongs in it | Keep separate from |
|---|---|---|
| Storefront | German consumer shop and app on mediamarkt.de | Ceconomy corporate content on mediamarkt.com |
| Product catalog | Electronics and home-appliance product pages with category-specific details | A guarantee that every category has the same attributes |
| Marketplace | Third-party merchants offer goods through the shop | Direct MediaMarkt seller offers and other country stores |
| Market context | EUR, German-language labels and Germany delivery/pickup options | A nationwide stock or delivery claim without location and time |
An article number, GTIN and seller offer identify different things
A MediaMarkt product detail page can show an `Art.-Nr.`, manufacturer/model details and a GTIN or EAN. Preserve each field under its displayed name: the shop's article number is not automatically the manufacturer model or the trade-item identifier. A product page can also offer selectable options and one or more commercial offers. Keep the chosen option and offer connected to the item they describe instead of flattening every value into one product row.

| Identifier or record | What it identifies | Useful handling |
|---|---|---|
| Art.-Nr. | MediaMarkt article number displayed on a product page | Keep the label, product URL and observed value together |
| GTIN / EAN | Trade-item identifier when supplied on the listing | Store separately from Art.-Nr. and preserve the original formatting |
| Manufacturer model or reference | The manufacturer's model-level name or code | Do not substitute it for the shop article number |
| Selected option and offer | A chosen color, size, capacity or other variant and a seller's commercial listing | Attach option, seller, condition and availability to the exact observation |
Technical and compliance fields depend on the product category
A useful electronics record is category-aware. A phone may need storage, memory and network details; a television may need screen, display and connection attributes; an appliance may need capacity, dimensions, energy and noise fields. MediaMarkt says legally labeled products show their energy class, a click opens the full label, and the product data sheet appears below the class when required. Some connected-device listings also carry an EU Data Act information panel. That panel concerns data generated through use of a connected device; it is not a substitute for the product's technical specifications.

| Information group | Possible fields | Source-specific check |
|---|---|---|
| Category specifications | Model, capacity, dimensions, display or connection attributes | Use the fields shown for that category and model; do not require a universal set |
| Energy information | Energy class, full label and product data sheet | Record the label or sheet URL and whether the listing provides it |
| Connected-device disclosure | Data type and format, volume, storage, user access and real-time availability | Keep it in a separate Data Act record and attribute details to the manufacturer |
| Product option | Color, size, storage capacity or appliance configuration | Capture the selected value rather than a generic family default |
Seller, condition and delivery belong to the offer
MediaMarkt's German terms distinguish its own retail assortment from marketplace offers. For a marketplace purchase, the seller is the customer's contract partner. The product-page wording `Verkauf und Versand durch ...` identifies the third-party seller; MediaMarkt's help page says that seller delivers the item. Seller identity, offer condition and fulfillment can therefore vary even when offers point to the same catalog product. Refurbished listings add a graded condition such as `Exzellent`, `Sehr gut` or `Gut`; preserve that grade on the specific offer. MediaMarkt warns that original water- and dust-resistance (where present) may not be guaranteed after refurbishment.

| Offer field | Why it matters | Do not merge with |
|---|---|---|
| Seller and displayed role | Shows whether MediaMarkt or a marketplace merchant offers the item | Manufacturer or catalog-product identity |
| Contract and service responsibility | Marketplace sellers are the contract partner for their own offers | The shop operator or another seller's terms |
| Condition / refurbished grade | Describes the state of a used and reconditioned item | The technical attributes of a new unit |
| Dispatch, delivery and returns | Can depend on the seller, item and destination | A store-wide or nationwide promise |
Compare prices with their payment and location conditions
A displayed amount may sit beside VAT and shipping details, a 30-day low-price reference, an installment plan or an offer-specific promotion. These fields answer different questions. Financing can have customer, term and seller eligibility conditions, and the displayed amount may depend on the selected option. Delivery time, shipping cost, pickup and stock also depend on the offer and delivery or store context. Keep each amount with its payment rule, seller, currency, selected option, location scope and observation time; do not publish a current price as a lasting fact.

| Price or availability field | Preserve alongside it | Comparison risk |
|---|---|---|
| Current displayed price | Seller, selected option, currency, VAT/shipping wording and observation time | A different seller or later price may not be comparable |
| 30-day low or reference price | The page label and the period it describes | Do not treat it as the current offer or universal market low |
| Installment or payment condition | Number of payments, interest, eligibility and total when displayed | A monthly amount is not the one-time product price |
| Stock, delivery and pickup | Offer, destination/selected market and quote time | One location's availability does not establish nationwide stock |
Search ranking, sponsored placements and recommendations are separate signals
MediaMarkt's current price-promise page lists five main search factors in descending order: query agreement with item data, item popularity, product availability, category relevance and item newness. It separately says some products can be ranked higher during promotions or advertising campaigns. The Sponsored Products page describes paid placements, relevance checks and availability requirements. The usage terms describe recommendations based on similar products and products often viewed together, with browsing history and recently viewed products prioritized after cookie consent. These are distinct disclosures, not a complete formula; record the page, query, chosen sort, market context, sponsored label and time if analysing a result set.

| Signal | What MediaMarkt discloses | Research handling |
|---|---|---|
| Organic search factors | Query match to article data, popularity, availability, category relevance and newness | Attribute the list to the current price-promise page; do not invent weights |
| Campaign or sponsored placement | Promoted items may rank higher; Sponsored Products has dedicated placements and availability checks | Keep paid placement separate from an organic position |
| Recommendations | Similar products and often-viewed-together; cookie-conditioned browsing history signals | Do not treat recommendations as search ranking |
| Observed result | A query, selected sort/filter and location can shape what a user sees | Store query, settings, timestamp and visible placement label |
Robots directives and seller catalog connections answer different questions
The German robots.txt file lists a sitemap index and a deals sitemap, excludes selected operational/API/account paths and some product/list URL patterns for the wildcard user-agent, and has named crawler groups that allow some AI/search agents while disallowing others. For example, it explicitly allows GPTBot, ChatGPT-User, OAI-SearchBot, Google-Extended, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot, while naming blocks such as MistralAI-User, Amazonbot and CCBot. These are crawler directions and can change; they do not grant permission to collect, republish or commercially reuse page content. Separately, the Marketplace seller page says enrolled sellers can manage their own assortment using Excel/CSV templates, an API or integration partners. This is a seller catalog workflow, not an open consumer catalog API.

| Evidence | What it says | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Sitemap declarations | Main sitemap index and a deals sitemap are named in robots.txt | That every URL is indexed or intended for every crawler |
| Crawler groups | Some named AI/search agents are allowed and others are blocked; selected paths have wildcard restrictions | Content-reuse rights or a guarantee of retrieval |
| Seller catalog management | CSV/Excel, API and integration options are described for Marketplace sellers | Unrestricted access to all consumer offers or competitor data |
| Use and provenance | Each data project still needs an appropriate basis, scope and attribution trail | A legal conclusion based on robots.txt alone |
Keep product, offer and observation provenance in linked records
A useful electronics-market dataset links the product family to selected variants and seller offers, then stores every observed price or search result with its source and time. Category-specific specifications and compliance documents belong with the relevant item; price, seller, condition, delivery and sponsored status belong with the offer or observation. Keep only the location detail needed for the analysis, such as a market or delivery region, rather than private customer information.

| Record | Suggested fields | Provenance to retain |
|---|---|---|
| Product | Category, brand, model, Art.-Nr., GTIN/EAN and technical fields | Product URL, displayed field names, locale de-DE and retrieval time |
| Variant | Selected color, size, storage, capacity or configuration | Option label and the page state that exposed it |
| Offer | Seller, condition, price context, delivery and return details | Seller page/offer URL, displayed terms and applicable location |
| Search observation | Query, sort/filter, organic or sponsored placement and availability | Result URL, market context, capture time and source-use basis |
