HOBBYColours model paints, kits and aftermarket parts
Read HOBBYColours listings for paint formulations and color codes, kit contents, scale-specific aftermarket fitment, tool dimensions and changing checkout details.
A paint name does not tell you its chemistry
HOBBYColours is a specialist scale-model retailer with paints from multiple makers. Record the manufacturer, source-labeled product number, color name or code, volume, and formulation as separate values. A model-paint category can contain products with different application and cleanup guidance. These examples describe listing details reviewed on 5 October 2026; they are not a current price or stock report.

| Listing example | Details to retain | Why the distinction matters |
|---|---|---|
| MRP White/Basic White · MRP-004 | Vendor MRP; 30 ml; source page labels MRP-004 as Product number, while a category card labels it SKU. | The description identifies MR. PAINT as a pre-thinned acrylic lacquer designed for airbrush use. Keep formulation and stated application with this maker's product. |
| Mr. Hobby Aqueous Hobby Color Clear · H-030 | Vendor Mr. Hobby; 10 ml; product number H-030; water-soluble acrylic resin paint. | Its description says it can be diluted with water and is water-resistant after drying. That is a different product-specific instruction, not a property to apply to every paint listing. |
| Color identity | Preserve the displayed color name and any standard reference code together; for example, a paint name may include an FS code. | A code can make a color easier to compare across a project, but the code does not identify paint medium, finish, bottle size, or compatibility by itself. |
Scale and named kit fitment answer different questions
Aftermarket detail listings may include a subject, scale, maker, and recommended kit. Keep those fields distinct: the scale tells you the intended miniature proportion, while a named kit reference is the listing's explicit compatibility clue. Match the kit maker and model family before treating the part as a fit.

| Listing example | Explicit listing facts | How to read it |
|---|---|---|
| CH-46E exterior · product 48488 | Vendor Eduard; exterior detail set; 1/48; recommended kits ACADEMY / MRC. | This is a manufacturer-named fitment statement. Store ACADEMY / MRC as the listed recommendation rather than replacing it with a broad aircraft-level fit claim. |
| Scale | For example, 1/48 or 1/72 when printed in the title or description. | Scale alone does not confirm that a part attaches to a particular kit: manufacturers can differ in mold, parts, and variant. |
| Compatibility not stated | A blank or absent recommended-kit field. | Treat fitment as unknown. Do not infer it from the aircraft name, scale, or a similar product title. |
A model kit listing is also a contents record
A boxed kit is not the same kind of product as a resin, photo-etched, or other aftermarket upgrade. For a kit, record the kit maker and identifier, scale, subject, and each stated component. HOBBYColours' IAI Kfir C2/C7 example is identified as AMK product AMK86002 in 1/72 scale; its listing names plastic sprues, a clear sprue, and a waterslide decal sheet as contents.

| Kit field | Example value | Interpretation |
|---|---|---|
| Identity | IAI Kfir C2/C7; vendor AMK; product identifier AMK86002. | Keep the kit maker and listing identifier with the named subject; neither is the retailer's identity. |
| Scale | 1/72 scale. | Treat scale as a kit specification. It is not evidence that any separately sold upgrade will fit this kit. |
| What's in the box | Plastic sprue, clear plastic sprue, waterslide decal sheet. | These are the stated contents. Do not assume glue, paints, tools, figures, or optional aftermarket pieces are included unless the listing says so. |
| Missing contents detail | No stated value for an item or accessory. | Keep the field unknown rather than filling it from another retailer's kit or a similarly named box. |
Tool options need dimensions, units and their own identifiers
Small modeling materials often rely on measurements rather than color or fitment. HOBBYColours lists colored iron coil wire in a 0.30 mm diameter and 10 m length under product number HC70023, with color choices shown separately. A distinct 3 m listing uses product number HC70003. Preserve the units and separate listing identities so a length choice is not mistaken for interchangeable stock under one product.

| Detail | 10 m wire example | Catalog handling |
|---|---|---|
| Material and size | Iron; 0.30 mm diameter; one 10 m spool. | Keep material, diameter, unit, and total length as separate properties. Do not round 0.30 mm to 0.3 without retaining the source display where precision matters. |
| Selectable finish/color | The listing presents named color choices, including silver, copper, gold, bronze, green, blue, red, brown, dark purple, and black. | Represent the selected color as an option value. Do not treat color as a separate physical product unless the listing gives it a separate identity. |
| Separate length listing | The 3 m coil is shown under product number HC70003; the 10 m example is HC70023. | Keep the identifiers and length attached to their own listings; do not merge the two into a single length variant without evidence. |
| Use in a model | The listing describes the wire as a detailing material and shows its diameter and length. | A model-scale calculation is a separate decision. Product dimensions alone do not establish fit in a particular kit or project. |
Check checkout details by destination and keep source terms in view
Price, stock, shipping availability, duties, delivery estimates, and return conditions can change by date and destination. HOBBYColours' homepage says US orders are accepted with duties, taxes, and fees paid in advance, while its contact page says shipping to the USA is unavailable; its shipping policy also contains a rate table marked current in July 2023. Because the pages do not agree, check the current checkout and applicable destination policy. The retailer's Terms say its page content can change without notice and ask for prior written acceptance before another website or document links to hobbycolours.com; this guide therefore includes no outbound store links or copied listing text. That link condition does not establish whether automated access is permitted.

| Information | What can change | Safe interpretation |
|---|---|---|
| Price and stock | Amount, currency, inventory, and sale labels. | Treat a catalog observation as time-bound; this page intentionally does not present current prices or availability. |
| Destination terms | Shipping service, delivery estimate, tax/duty treatment, and return instructions. | Use the current destination-specific checkout/policy details. Do not rely on an older rate table or a banner cached on another page. |
| Content and linking | The Terms reserve rights in site content, disclaim content accuracy/completeness, and request prior written acceptance for a link to the retailer's site. | Paraphrase and attribute factual examples; do not republish descriptions, images, or product-page text. No automated-access permission is inferred from this condition. |
