Fellow grinder data: Opus 2, Ode and gear options
Compare Fellow Opus 2 and Ode Gen 2 by brew range, burrs, adjustment and capacity; map Fellow gear, variants and kits by product type.
Map Fellow’s current coffee and gear catalog
Fellow’s current shop spans coffee appliances and grinders alongside kettles, scales, manual brewing tools, drinkware, accessories, consumables and kits. Start with the product family: a grinder’s brew range and burr set do not describe a kettle, replacement part or bag of coffee.

| Product family | Current Fellow examples | Record boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Coffee machines | Espresso Series 1; Aiden Precision Coffee Maker | Keep a machine listing separate from an accessory or a kit that includes it. |
| Grinders | Opus 2 Conical Burr Grinder; Ode Brew Grinder Gen 2 | Preserve model generation, supported brew methods, burr geometry and selected hardware. |
| Kettles, scales and brewing tools | Electric and stovetop kettles; Tally Pro scale; pour-over and French press gear | Use the fields the exact item publishes, with units and model attribution. |
| Drinkware, coffee, tea and kits | Mugs and glassware; coffee beans, matcha and loose-leaf tea; kits and bundles | Keep consumables and included kit components distinct from standalone equipment. |
Fellow Opus 2 vs Ode Gen 2: method range and burrs
The current Fellow listings describe two different grinder records. Opus 2 is listed for espresso through cold brew; Ode Gen 2 is limited to brewed coffee methods and is not intended for espresso. Compare the exact model and source-published specifications rather than treating the two grinders as interchangeable.

Keep grinder generation, burr set and finish separate
A grinder name alone may not identify the installed hardware. Fellow says standard Ode Gen 2 ships with Gen 2 Brew Burrs, while its SSP configuration has SSP MP Red Speed Brew Burrs preinstalled. Keep that configuration separate from the color or material finish and from the model generation.

| Identity or option | Fellow-published distinction | How to record it |
|---|---|---|
| Ode Gen 2, standard burrs | Preinstalled with Ode Gen 2 Brew Burrs. | Record the exact model and standard burr label when the listing identifies it. |
| Ode Gen 2 with SSP burrs | Preinstalled with SSP MP Red Speed Brew Burrs. | Treat this as a hardware configuration, not a color variant. |
| Opus 2 finish | The listing offers color/material configurations; materials vary by colorway. | Keep finish as its own selected option; do not infer stock or availability from the option name. |
| Model generation | Fellow’s product/support pages distinguish Opus 2, Ode Gen 2 and earlier generations. | Keep a new generation as its own item identity; do not merge specifications across generations. |
Choose specifications by Fellow product type
Fellow’s product pages expose different facts for different equipment. Use a type-specific field map, retain the label and measurement unit shown by the source, and leave fields blank when that listing does not state them.

| Product type | Fields to preserve when published | Avoid carrying over |
|---|---|---|
| Coffee grinder | Model/generation, burr type and diameter, brew-method scope, adjustment, capacity, dimensions, weight and electrical specifications. | A specification from another grinder or another generation. |
| Espresso machine or coffee maker | Model, machine type, source-listed capacity, brewing settings, power and included accessories. | Assumptions about grinder compatibility based only on a kit or nearby recommendation. |
| Kettle or precision scale | Model/edition, volume or weighing capacity, source-listed controls/readout, units, materials and power. | Grinder fields such as burr size or grind range. |
| Manual brewer, drinkware or accessory | Product type, dimensions or volume, material, named components and exact compatible host model where stated. | Compatibility inferred from collection placement or shared branding. |
| Coffee, tea or matcha | Product name, type, source-stated roast/origin or tea form, package size and selected option. | Equipment specifications, changing price or subscription/account details. |
Keep kits, replacement parts and support documents linked to the right item
The storefront places complete kits beside individual products, while Fellow’s help center and product guides describe setup, care and compatibility. Preserve these relationships as separate records so a named kit does not silently rewrite the specifications or included items of a standalone machine.

| Record relationship | Useful evidence | Keep distinct |
|---|---|---|
| Kit or bundle | Its own listing identity and the components the kit page names. | A bundle listing versus each component’s standalone product page; omit current savings and bundle price. |
| Replacement part | Fellow’s explicit compatible product or model-generation statement, if published. | A demonstrated fit versus a guess based on appearance, category or product family. |
| Support article or manual | Document title, date, applicable model and the specific question it answers. | A support answer versus a storefront listing or warranty statement. |
| Customer material | Nothing from Tagged Media, personal profiles, account records or order activity belongs in a public product specification. | Product attributes versus reviews, customer content and private account/device data. |
Read Fellow’s Terms and robots directives separately
Fellow’s main Terms page and robots.txt describe different boundaries. The Terms were reviewed October 4, 2026; no overall effective or update date was visible. The robots file was also checked October 4, 2026 and is a set of user-agent and path directives, not a permission statement.

| Source | What Fellow publishes | How to describe it |
|---|---|---|
| Terms, Content section | A limited license to access and view Content for permitted use and personal, non-commercial purposes. | Attribute this to the Content section; do not present it as a blanket license for commercial reuse. |
| Terms, Use of the Services section | Restricts attempts to access, search or download through engines, software, tools, agents or mechanisms such as spiders, robots, crawlers and data-mining tools, subject to the stated Fellow-provided-agent/general-browser exception; separately bars commercial or third-party use. | Keep the automated-access and commercial-use statements attributed and separate; do not offer legal advice or extraction instructions. |
| robots.txt | The default group excludes specified paths such as account, checkout, search, sorted/filtered collections and recommendations; a separate Nutch group says Disallow: /. The file lists a sitemap. | Report the Nutch rule as agent-specific. A robots directive does not override Terms or establish permission. |
| User-submitted and personal data | Terms define User Content and Fellow-Tagged Media; they also address personal information. | Keep reviews, tagged photos/videos, account and order details, serial registration and private device/app information outside product records. |
