Dr. Squatch product data: scents, grit levels and care formats
Plan Dr. Squatch data extraction across scent-led personal care, soap grit labels, product formats, custom bundles, ingredient disclosures and purchase options.
Map Dr. Squatch products by care format
The US Shop All navigation reopened October 4, 2026 groups the men’s personal-care catalog across soap and body wash, several deodorant formats, hair, skin care and cologne, shaving, toothpaste, accessories, bundles and limited editions. Use these as dated source navigation labels rather than a permanent or exhaustive taxonomy; the limited-edition roster changes over time. The separate Women’s Shop link leads to myjukebox.com, outside the drsquatch.com storefront scope.

| Source group | Examples shown in navigation | Catalog distinction |
|---|---|---|
| Soap & Body Wash | Bar Soap, Total Moisture, Kids, Body Wash and Hand Soap. | Preserve bar, liquid and other format labels at the specific item level. |
| Deodorant | Stick, Invisible Glide, Spray, Wipes and Precision Deo. | Do not collapse format-specific listings into one generic deodorant variant. |
| Hair; Skin Care & Cologne | Hair kits, shampoo and conditioner; cologne, beard oil, lotion, face wash, lip balm and sunscreen. | Retain the displayed care family and product format; scent names alone do not identify a formula. |
| Shave; More Squatch; Accessories & Swag | Shave butter, post-shave items, trimmer, razor, toothpaste, shower accessories and swag. | Use each source category rather than forcing unrelated products into soap fields. |
| Bundles and Limited Editions | The navigation has separate bundle and limited-edition groupings. | Save a collaboration or collection label with the exact item URL and observation date; the menu can change. |
Compare scent and grit labels without merging formulas
A product page can separate product identity, care format, scent name, marketed scent notes, the “Smell Like” label and a featured-ingredient label. Golden Glory, checked October 4, 2026, is listed as Bar Soap with “Smell Like: Gameday Greatness” and “Grit Level: Zero”; its page copy describes crisp bergamot and fresh cotton. The bar-soap builder displays grit labels on selected soap scents. Record grit only where a soap listing publishes it. Scent text is not ingredient or formula identity.

| Field | Source example | Keep distinct from |
|---|---|---|
| Product identity and format | The current Golden Glory item page is titled “Golden Glory | Bar Soap”; Shop All navigation also distinguishes other care formats such as Deodorant. | Keep product_name, catalog_category and format separate from scent fields. Do not infer cross-format formula matches from category navigation. |
| Scent name and notes | The Golden Glory page displays “Smell Like: Gameday Greatness” and describes a scent of crisp bergamot and fresh cotton. | Store scent_notes_as_marketed as item-page copy, not as an ingredient or performance statement. |
| Smell Like label | Golden Glory displays “Smell Like: Gameday Greatness.” | Treat this as a source scent label, not the product name or a formula identity. |
| Grit level | Golden Glory displays “Grit Level: Zero”; the bar-soap builder shows grit labels on other scent choices. | Do not assign grit to deodorant, hair, skin-care or other formats that do not display it. |
| Observation context | Record the product URL, US market, displayed wording and observation date for each field set. | Do not transfer a scent label or notes from one listing to another. |
Keep featured ingredients and ingredient lists product-scoped
The item page’s “Ingredients” section and any featured-ingredient label are separate fields. Golden Glory Bar Soap, checked October 4, 2026, displays an ingredient list and the scent/grit labels above; it does not display a separate “Featuring” label. The ingredient list is page text for this item, not independent safety or effects evidence or a verified package label.

| Exact listing | Selected page fields | Disclosure boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Golden Glory Bar Soap (US product page checked October 4, 2026) | “Smell Like: Gameday Greatness”; “Grit Level: Zero.” Ingredients: Saponified Oils of (Certified Palm, Coconut, Olive), Naturally Derived Fragrance, Shea Butter, Mica, Gold Kaolin Clay, Kaolin Clay, Sea Salt. | Preserve the exact item page, field labels and ingredient order. The page does not show a separate Featured-ingredient field; do not invent one. |
| Limited-edition/item context | The Golden Glory page labels the item Limited Edition and its product copy refers to FIFA World Cup 2026. | Keep the label, source URL and October 4 observation date attached to this item; do not treat a time-bound collaboration as an enduring catalog family. |
| Field model | Store marketed scent wording, any featured_ingredient_label when a page displays it, and ingredients_as_listed as distinct fields. | Do not infer composition, ingredient effects, safety, certification, natural origin or shared formula from neighboring fields. |
Model custom bundles separately from product and subscription options
The Bar Soap builder reopened October 4, 2026 lets shoppers choose a bundle quantity and then select scents for the included bars. It displays 3-, 4-, 5- and 6+-bar choices. Represent the set, its count and each selected component scent independently; a custom bundle is not one ordinary soap SKU with a single scent variant. Keep one-time purchase and subscription options separate from both the item and bundle composition.

| Record component | What to capture | Do not merge with |
|---|---|---|
| Bundle identity | Source bundle name, component product type, bundle quantity label and exact builder URL. | Do not replace a configurable bundle with a single product variant. |
| Selected components | The scent selected for each bar or other bundle component, plus any item-specific quantity or size shown. | A bundle’s chosen scent list is not the set of every scent in the catalog. |
| Purchase option | One-time or subscription choice and the interval wording shown for the exact selected listing. | Keep purchase plan and cadence separate from the bundle count and product scent. |
| Subscription account controls | The Help Center checked October 4 describes changing subscription products/scents, cancelling, skipping or delaying refills, and adding one-time items to a subscription from an account. | Link current help text; do not generalize a product-page promotion or claim every purchase option has identical terms. |
| Dated commercial observation | If a permitted record is made, store selected product, bundle selections, market, currency, displayed amount and observation time together. | This evergreen overview states no live price, subscription saving or stock value. |
Date limited-edition labels and market context
The US navigation and product listings use collection and collaboration labels that can change. Golden Glory, checked October 4, 2026, is labeled Limited Edition and its item copy refers to FIFA World Cup 2026; retain that wording with the exact item page and observation date rather than treating a collaboration roster as permanent. For market monitoring, keep storefront, currency, offer wording and capture time attached to the selected product or bundle, and omit current sale, availability and shipping values from durable copy.

| Observation | Source-specific example | Record boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Limited-edition item label | The Golden Glory Bar Soap page is labeled Limited Edition at the October 4, 2026 check and refers to FIFA World Cup 2026 in its item copy. | Date the observation and recheck the exact listing before using a changing collection label. |
| Storefront scope | The US Shop All page links a separate Women’s Shop at myjukebox.com. | Keep that external storefront and its merchandise outside a drsquatch.com catalog record. |
| Price and availability fields | A market observation can carry the selected item, currency/market, exact displayed value, source URL and timestamp. | No live price, discount, stock or delivery claim is stated here. |
| History design | Repeated observations should retain the same exact item/option identity and their respective timestamps. | Do not carry an old offer or availability state forward as a current fact. |
Link customer policies and distinguish terms from crawler rules
Policy statements are dated support content, not permanent product attributes. The Sudisfaction Guarantee article checked October 4, 2026 displays “Updated 8 months ago”; it says to contact Dr. Squatch within 30 days of purchase to find a preferred scent, states that returns are not accepted, and lists exclusions. Link the current Help Center instead of presenting this as a return entitlement. The current US Terms wording could not be read from the US footer link; the separate international Terms and robots guidance must retain their own scope.

| Source or policy | What the reviewed page shows | How to describe it |
|---|---|---|
| US storefront Terms of Use link | The US Shop All footer’s Terms of Use link led to privacy.drsquatch.com/policies/en; on October 4, that destination showed a privacy-center shell without readable Terms text. | Report the observed destination and review limit; do not invent or infer current US Terms wording. |
| International Terms of Use | The separate international Terms page displays “Effective as of Dec 5, 2022.” Section 2 lists scraping, crawling or spidering web pages or other services among prohibited conduct. | Attribute and date this international source; do not present it as current US Terms, legal advice or permission. |
| robots.txt | The available public file capture, crawled two days before the October 4 check, includes path-specific Disallow entries under User-agent: * and separate rules for named agents, including Allow rules for some named bots. | Describe these only as crawler instructions. An Allow entry or publicly visible page does not establish collection permission. |
| Editorial boundary | The refreshed source review documents product labels, support wording, international Terms and crawler directives. | This editorial page does not claim access or authorization and does not grant permission to collect data. |
