Costco product data: item numbers, member price and stock

Compare Costco items by item number, pack size, member-price visibility and selected warehouse. Separate online and local inventory, dated lookup delays and use-term restrictions.

Keep Costco.com and warehouse offers in separate records.

Costco Customer Service's warehouse/online price answer, published May 28, 2026, says not every Costco.com product is available at a local warehouse and shipping costs or warehouse-only promotions can produce different prices. A separate March 11, 2026 availability answer describes online inventory as an extension of warehouse inventory, not a duplicate. Preserve channel and offer context instead of treating an online page as a warehouse quote.

Represent a hidden Member Only Item price as gated, not as zero.

Costco Customer Service's Member Only pricing answer, published August 28, 2023, says a user must be signed in with a valid membership number saved to a Costco.com account to view pricing or purchase. That account-specific visibility state is not evidence of a zero price or of stock status. Store only whether price was visible in the observation context; do not retain a membership number, password or account session.

Warehouse availability belongs to a location and lookup time.

Costco's warehouse lookup answer, published January 6, 2026, describes the mobile app and a separate customer-service workflow that can request contact/account information, ZIP code or city/state, a preferred warehouse, and an item number or description. It says results may include price, availability, item number, department and photo; availability and price can be delayed by up to 30 minutes, can change, and omit out-of-stock items. A separate March 11, 2026 answer says the product-page status depends on setting “My Warehouse” and the feature being active for that item and location. Keep location and observation time with the result, and keep identity/account inputs out of the product dataset.

Warehouse availability belongs to a location and lookup time.
FieldRecordWhy it matters
Costco item numberThe item identifier used for the lookupKeep it separate from a model or a retailer-independent product match.
Selected warehouseWarehouse name or location selected for the queryAvailability is location-specific.
Search contextZIP/city and item number or description, without retaining unnecessary account detailsMakes the lookup's geographic scope understandable.
Result and observation timeDisplayed price or availability status and the time checkedCostco says the information can be delayed and can change.
No result for an out-of-stock itemNo displayed result in that lookup contextDo not convert an omitted item into a confirmed zero-stock count.
Availability featureCostco says the product-page warehouse-status feature is shown only when active for the selected item and the chosen “My Warehouse.”A missing status can mean the feature is unavailable for that item; do not infer zero stock.

Normalize bulk packs before comparing unit economics.

A Costco pack can contain several identical units or a stated net quantity. Keep the listing's package size and unit basis alongside its item number and channel. For example, a hypothetical two-pack of 30-count boxes represents 60 total units; comparing its total price directly with one 30-count box would give the wrong unit comparison. This arithmetic is a normalization method, not a current Costco offer or price claim.
