Boston Scally cap sizes, panel styles & product details

Compare Boston Scally cap charts by panel count, head measurements, materials, returns and exact product options.

Boston Scally cap sizes vary by panel style.

The current Original 5-Panel and Bareknuckle 6-Panel product pages publish different head-circumference ranges for some of the same labels. Boston Scally's FAQ says sizing can vary by cap style, so compare the chart on the exact product instead of treating one range as universal.

Measure head circumference, then keep fit advice with its date and source.

Boston Scally's product-page instructions place a tape just above the eyebrows and ears, recommend measuring again and using the largest reading; the FAQ also says cap sizing is best done in centimeters. Keep the original unit alongside any conversion.

Source guidanceWhat it saysHow to preserve it
Current product pages and FAQThe between-size choice is a preference: down for a snugger fit or up for more room. A tight fit may stretch about 0.5 cm after wear.Attach the recommendation to its page and review date; do not present it as a measured fit result.
Scally Cap Styles article · August 8, 2019The article says to size up between sizes. This older advice differs from the product pages and FAQ. Show the discrepancy and consult the exact product chart rather than resolving it into a universal rule.
Measurement methodUse a tape or string around the head; product pages specify just above the eyebrows and ears, with repeat measurement.Keep circumference, unit, size label and cap-style chart together; a numeric hat size alone loses the measurement context.

Panel count describes a shape, not a size or fabric.

Boston Scally's style guide describes four constructions. These are the brand's design descriptions; panel count does not replace the product's material or size chart.

Five panelNarrower sides and a rounder back, with a slightly extended brim and increased depth. The reviewed Original 5-Panel has its own posted size chart and Wool Blend material field.
Six panelRounder appearance, more depth, slimmer sides and a more substantial brim.Do not assume its circumference table matches a five-panel cap.
Eight panelA larger profile with an old-school look and a narrower brand fit.Use the exact eight-panel product's current material, color and size chart.

Preserve material and options on the exact product record.

Panel style, product name, color, material and selected size describe different attributes. The current examples show how each exact listing carries these fields; do not generalize either listed material across Boston Scally caps.

Brand audience, manufacturing and returns need their own fields.

The FAQ describes the caps as unisex, says caps for children are offered, and says products are designed in the U.S. with final assembly in the PRC. The Terms of Sale and FAQ state return details at different levels; keep each condition with its source. The Boston name is not evidence that a cap was made in Massachusetts or the United States.
