AutoZone part data: fitment, IDs and pickup
Map AutoZone parts by Part #, SKU and selected vehicle. Separate core deposits from item price and store availability from confirmed pickup; review AutoZone content-use terms.
AutoZone part fitment belongs to a specific vehicle configuration.
AutoZone lets shoppers narrow parts by vehicle information, and product pages can show a fitment result for the selected vehicle. Its app describes vehicle entry and VIN scanning, while product pages can show Add Vehicle or Check if this fits your vehicle. Keep that lookup context beside the exact part: some listings are vehicle-specific, while others say they are not vehicle-specific.

| Fitment dimension | What AutoZone may show | Comparison record |
|---|---|---|
| Vehicle identity | Year, make and model from the vehicle selector; the app also describes entering vehicle information by VIN scan. Some page flows offer license plate lookup. | Store the selected vehicle context and lookup method; add trim or engine only when the source exposes it. |
| Catalog part identity | A product page may display a Part # and a separate AutoZone SKU #. | Keep Part #, SKU #, brand and product URL as distinct source identifiers; don't treat them as interchangeable. |
| Fitment message | The page may say the item fits the selected vehicle, ask the shopper to check fitment, or identify it as not vehicle-specific. | Save the exact status with the selected vehicle and retrieval time; don't extend it to another year, engine or model. |
| Universal or fluid item | Some products are labeled not vehicle-specific but expose other choices such as oil weight or container size. | Compare the selected specification and package instead of inventing a vehicle match. |
| Technical specification | Product details can include grade, size, type, warranty and other item-specific specifications. | Attribute specifications to the exact AutoZone page and selected option; do not merge similar names with different part numbers. |
Separate the part price from a refundable core charge and its return.
Some remanufactured AutoZone parts display the regular part price, a refundable core charge and a total that includes both. A core charge is tied to returning an eligible old component; it is not the product's recurring price or a discount. AutoZone's engine and transmission return requirements call for an exact casting match, a complete assembled core and no visible damage, so preserve those amounts and the return event separately.

| Price or return field | What the listing or policy describes | Why to store it separately |
|---|---|---|
| Part price | The current item price shown for the exact part page and selected option. | Match Part #, SKU, selected vehicle when relevant, package and observation time before comparing. |
| Core charge | A refundable deposit may appear as a separate line for eligible rebuilt or remanufactured parts. | Do not add it to the base part price as if it were a permanent item cost; preserve the displayed total and core amount independently. |
| Core return | AutoZone's engine/transmission core requirements specify an exact casting match and that the core be drained, complete, assembled and without visible damage. | Record return eligibility and the actual core-credit event separately from the product listing. Requirements can vary by part and current policy. |
| Product specifications | A listing can show grade, weight, container size, product type, warranty and a selected variant. | Those fields may distinguish otherwise similar product names; keep the selected option with its price and ID. |
| Order total | The displayed total can include the part and refundable core; taxes, shipping and order-specific charges are separate checkout context. | Keep line items and checkout totals apart so a core return is not misread as a later price drop. |
A store availability label is not the same as an order ready for pickup.
AutoZone ties pickup availability to the selected store and item. Its current pickup and next-day help article says an item must be in stock and the online order placed at least one hour before closing for same-day pickup. After ordering, wait for the order-ready confirmation email; a prepared order is held for seven days before cancellation and return to inventory. AutoZone's FAQ says a shopping list is not a parts reservation. Keep the availability observation, list entry, order, timing cutoff, ready email, hold period and in-store collection as distinct states or events.

| Shopping state | AutoZone's published guidance | What a useful record preserves |
|---|---|---|
| Selected store status | The product flow can show pickup availability for the store selected while shopping; AutoZone says in-stock items at that location can be picked up when ready. | Store identifier, product option, visible status and time. A status is not an exact shelf count. |
| Shopping list | AutoZone describes a store shopping list as a time-saving tool, not a part reservation or hold. | Do not record a list entry as reserved stock or a committed order. |
| Pickup order | Record the submitted online pickup order and selected store separately from the later ready email and actual in-store collection. | Keep order placement, selected store, ready notice and collection as separate timestamps or events. |
| Same-day cutoff | AutoZone says same-day pickup requires the part to be in stock and the online order to be placed at least one hour before the store closes. | Store the observed cutoff, selected store and item availability with the order context; this is an eligibility condition, not a ready notice or guarantee. |
| Ready email | AutoZone tells shoppers to wait for the confirmation email that says the pickup order is ready; arriving before it may mean waiting. | Treat the ready email as its own timestamped status after order placement and before collection. |
| Prepared order hold | AutoZone says a prepared pickup order is held for seven days; if it is not collected, the order is cancelled and the items returned to inventory. | Record the hold deadline and any cancellation separately from the one-hour same-day cutoff and ready-email event. |
| In-store collection | Collection is the later event when the shopper picks up the ready order at the selected store. | Keep the actual pickup event and time separate from availability, order placement and the ready notice. |
| Next-day delivery | Only eligible products and addresses qualify; checkout shows the applicable cutoff, and availability or order timing can affect the estimate. | Keep item eligibility, destination ZIP context, cutoff and estimated date together; next-day timing is not universal across the catalog. |
Review AutoZone content-use terms before reusing product information
The current AutoZone Terms and Conditions describe site content as a shopping and automotive-information resource and require prior written permission for copying, downloading, reproducing, distributing or creating derivative works. The reviewed general Terms do not include a general robot or scraping clause; that absence is not permission. The consumer product, fitment and fulfillment pages reviewed for this guide do not document a general public bulk-catalog API.

|---|---|---|
| Content copying | The Terms require prior written permission for copying, downloading, reproducing, publishing, distributing or making derivative works from site content. | Do not describe catalog pages as an unrestricted feed or imply this guide grants reuse rights. |
| General access wording | The reviewed general Terms do not contain a general robot or scraping clause. | Do not treat missing wording as permission; check the applicable terms and authorization for the intended use. |
| Public data interface | The consumer product, fitment and fulfillment pages reviewed for this guide do not document a general public bulk catalog API. | Assess documented API field coverage separately from observations on public part and fitment pages; those shopping fields do not establish API coverage. |
